Obituary of Rebecca D. Newborn

DELMAR – Rebecca D. “Becky” (Lasher) Newborn, 48, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 after a two year long battle with breast cancer. 

Born in Albany on January 18, 1970, Becky was the daughter of Judith Lasher and the late Richard A. Lasher, Sr. and was the sister of the late Richard A. Lasher, Jr.  A graduate of Shaker High School, she worked for 24 years in the pharmacy at St. Peter’s Hospital.  Becky was a loving and devoted Mom who did everything she could for her children.  She enjoyed watching her son Reis play lacrosse for Bethlehem, loved traveling to cheerleading events with her daughter Gillian and was looking forward to her daughter Jocelyn’s wedding to Patrick D. Richter on June 9^th of this year.  Her favorite place in the whole world was Ocean City, MD.  She will be deeply missed by her beloved mother and children and all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, May 14 from 4 to 7 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar.  A memorial service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Peter’s Cancer Care Center.
