Obituary of Andrew J. Schoonmaker

GLENMONT – Andrew J. Schoonmaker, 77, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018. Andrew was born in Albany on September 25, 1940, the son of the late Earl T. and Catherine (Connell) Schoonmaker. He loved working on cars and was a body man mechanic. He was a loving and giving man to his family and friends. Andrew was a member of the Bethlehem Community Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Beverly A. (Miller) Schoonmaker; a daughter, Tina A. Schoonmaker; a granddaughter, Alisha M. Schoonmaker and a sister, Ruth Brisee. Survivors include daughters, Maria Theresa Hulsopple and Candice F. (Tim) Schoonmaker-Cuttle; sons, Andrew Jay (Dorothy) Schoonmaker, Keith A. (Bonnie) Schoonmaker, Michael K. (Cindy) Hulsopple, and Joseph J. Schoonmaker; sister, Pearl Collins; grandchildren, Angela, Joe, Michael, Billy (Tia), Patrick, Andrew, Andrea, Vincent (Breanna), Josh, Anthony and Courtney; great grandchildren, Julia, Lilly, William, Leighanna and Robert; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, April 7th at Bethlehem Community Church, 201 Elm Ave., Delmar. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 – 11 am at the church. Burial will be in Holy Spirit Lutheran Cemetery, Glenmont. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (www.theaftd.org) or Bethlehem Community Church, 201 Elm Ave., Delmar, 12054.
