Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Veldran

Margaret Elizabeth Veldran, 90, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on July 30, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1926, Margie lived a long, full life, which included daily visits from her great grandchildren who affectionately called her "Nuna". She enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles, game shows, cannolis, and crocheting. Every winter, Margie would crochet hats and scarves for the children at locals hospitals and churches. Margie is predeceased by her husband Howard Veldran, her parents Francis and Guisepena Barbato, her sister Frances Schneider and her brothers Frank and Salvatore Barbato. She is survived by her daughters Barbara Veldran and Carol Cummings (Veldran), her grandchildren Scott Alvarez, Jason Alvarez, Robin Bouplon (Alvarez), Steve Alvarez, Jessica Canziani, Daniel Figueroa, and her beloved great grand children Justin Alvarez, Sofia Bouplon, James Bouplon and David Bouplon A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar, Thursday August 3rd at 9am with a burial being held at the Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island at 2pm.
