Obituary of Trish McGinn

Patricia A. McGinn “Trish”, 61, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 after a brief illness.

Trish was born March 27, 1961 in Newburgh and raised in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Muldoon) Scully.  She graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 1983 and enjoyed a lengthy career in public service, working for Albany Co. Crime Victims Bureau and retiring as an Albany Co. Probation Officer.  In her retirement she enjoyed working at McCarroll’s Village Butcher in Delmar.  A longtime member of Delmar Presbyterian Church, she was an active participant in the R.P.M. program, chaperoning a number of mission trips and running the kitchen for a number of pasta dinner fundraisers.

Trish is survived by her husband of 30 years, James McGinn; children, Sean, Brendan and Charlie McGinn; stepchildren, J.R. McGinn and Lydia Leon; granddaughter, Rory; and siblings, Linda Scully, Joanne Quicksell and Kevin Scully.  In addition to her parents, Trish was predeceased by a sister, Mary Foster. 

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, November 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar.  A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, November 10 at Delmar Presbyterian Church, 585 Delaware Ave., Delmar.  Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
