Obituary of Barbara Zautner

Barbara (Dombrowski) Beck Zautner, 83, of Glenmont, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021. 

Barbara was born on October 22, 1937 in Erie, PA, the daughter of the late John and Helen Dombrowski.  She leaves behind her husband George W. Zautner (Bill). Her loving spirit will live on in her daughters Cheryl Bertoia (Clay) of Montreal, Quebec, Wendy Collien (Mark) of Churchton, Maryland, grandchildren Daniel Collien of Portland, Oregon, Corinne Bertoia of Denver, Colorado, Harrison Collien (Lauren) of Owings, Maryland, Kieran Collien of Churchton, Maryland, and great-granddaughter Sophia Collien.

Extended family including Doug and Sue Zautner of Albany, New York and their daughters Jen Smith (Andy) (Tyler, Drew) and Jean Bryan (Mike) (Kyle, Courtney); Patrick and Laura (deceased) Wilkie (Nathan) of Delmar, New York; Krista and Robert Manna (Isabella, Lorenzo) of Abington, Massachusetts, Sarah and Don Simmons of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and Debbie and Peter Dominick (Amber) of Latham, New York.

Prior to her retirement, Barbara was a teacher at the Catskill Central School District. She was an avid bridge player, reader of cozy mysteries, supporter of the Garden Club and Albany Pro Musica, world traveler and homemaker. Her hand-knitted products will keep her close to her family for years to come. She was an enthusiast for all water sports, including sailing, power boating, swimming, water aerobics, and in recent years, cocktails on the deck overlooking the water!

She was beloved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Per Barbara’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the YMCA (https://cdymca.org/support-the-y/) or the Bethlehem Garden Club (bethlehemgardenclub@gmail.com).
