Barbara was a key person and former club officer in the Bethlehem Garden Club -- where I first met her.
I will miss Barbara's deep laugh, her willing spirit, her gracious hospitality, and her volunteer spirit. She NEVER turned down a request for help on a project -- and always had a ready smile on her face for everyone.
A great friend.

My heart goes out to all of Barb's family at this sad time. My friendship with her dates back to her Catskill days, with many fun get-togethers over the years since then. She was such a joy to spend time with. Thoughts and prayers to all of you.........

Grammy I wish I could put into writing how much all the years meant to me but I'm bad at this sort of thing. Coming to see you in the winter and summer were always the highlights of my year, and I hate that between covid and my moving I hadn't seen you much recently. I'll always treasure the memories made. I love you and miss you more than I know how to say

Barbara warmly welcomed at her Lake George home the Cospas-Sarsat team from Montreal whose mission is using satellites for search and rescue. She provided precious moments of fun, carefreeness and team bonding in the midst of several very tough years of work. Our time with her in Lake George also let us test new life-saving technologies out on the lake and in the mountains. She didn’t necessarily understand everything that we do, but she was pleased to be instrumental in helping us feel happier and work better. Her legendary enthusiasm for reading somewhat amusingly led her to voluntarily proofread hundreds and hundreds of pages of our mind-numbing technical reports for grammar and common sense. We will be forever grateful for her contributions to us personally and professionally, and will carry with us very fond memories of our time with her at her beloved Lake George.

While we never got to spend time together in person, and while she wasn’t technically my Grammie, I always referred to her as such and she never blinked an eye at it. Always welcoming. Always interested in what was going on in mine and Corinne’s lives. I always enjoyed our random FaceTime sessions.
I can hear her voice in my head right now. Telling us girls about her week and what she got up to. I feel honoured to have had those few moments.
You will be greatly missed Grammie.
Love Stef.

Dear Grammie,
You were so much more than just a grandmother. You were my best friend and my birthday twin. October will always be my favourite month because it was our time of year. You loved fall and cozy coffee shop mysteries and you showed me the joys of reading.
You inspired me to try harder and do better. When I showed you my thesis, you read the entire book even though you had no interest in the subject. You told me how proud you were and then pointed out all my typos! I loved laughing at my own mistakes with you.
Lake George is where you were the happiest and you shared that with us every summer and Christmas. We begged you to come down to the dock and supervise so we could swim, even when we were old enough and didn’t need supervision. Just to spend more time with you. Memories of ice cream island and windy boat rides and running down to the dock will stay with me forever.
I see your blue eyes in mine every time I look in the mirror. You will never be forgotten. I will do my best to channel your love and laughter and spirit for the rest of my life. Love you forever and always, Grams.
From your adoring granddaughter,
Corinne

My Grammy is the best, she taught me how to sew a pillow case, and she probably could have taught me knitting if I had the skill for it. Grammy was always so encouraging, telling me I was such a great writer and story teller when I was little. Grammy always offered to proofread my work, all the way through college. Grammy was so sharp we would play words with friends together and I remember when I was in the hospital with my tonsillectomy she finally went easy on me, pretty sure she let me win a couple games.
Summer and Christmas spent with Grammy were always the best and will always be some of my happiest memories. All the boat rides we went on at the lake, and trips to ice cream island. Every summer Grammy would take all of us to turn in all the soda cans and bottles saved up for a year to get the recycling deposit at Hannafords.
Grammy taught us how to shuck summer corn, we would always use the corn cob holders because the corn was so hot to touch. The best part was Grammy would always make corn fritters for breakfast the day after corn on the cob.
When I was little and swimming in the lake I always was impressed how she could swim all the way out to the buoy, when I was little going down the slide and swimming to the big rock 15 feet from the dock was hard enough. Waking up in the summer Grammy always cooked breakfast and would always have out fresh cut fruit, as I got older she would always have a pot of coffee on in the morning. As kids there was the special chair at the end of the breakfast bar that my brothers and cousin all fought to sit in
There was the time she signed Corinne and I up for sailing and tennis lessons at the club and Corinne and I crashed the sailboat into the swim area because we didn't have the rudder in. I didn't want to go back I was so embarrassed but I did anyway. I will always think of Grammy when I see a Wednesday night regatta.
Christmas mornings at the lake and the traditional sausage ring with eggs Grammy always made. She would always get me packers stuff for Christmas and I love that. Christmas and summer won't be the same but I am happy to carry on the traditions and things I learned from Grams.
I love you always Grams.
Your grandson Harrison.
