I am so sorry for your loss.
Also, I am so grateful for this obituary. I never knew Betsy. We bought her former house last year, and the house always felt "good" somehow. I was looking at old real estate listings to see when the roof was replaced. An online search led me straight here. Now we know why birds seem to pay extra attention to her, our, house. Her neighbors continue to remember her with great affection. And our dog thanks Betsy, Hope, and Ellie for the fence.

Betsy was one of my advisees at SUNY Empire. She was an amazing French teacher and her teaching style and passion for the subject helped students learn with excitement and joy. She was such a kind soul and I am saddened to learn of her passing.

I worked with Betsy in Christian youth hostel ‘ The Shelter’ in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 1984/85. She was then a very dear and amazing friend! And also the last few years before her death we found eachother again and had lots of talks. Betsy loved her dogs and didn’t only love teaching, but really loved the people she was teaching English.

I worked with Betsy when she taught English as a Second Language classes at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. She was a really good teacher...creative...always well prepared, and so committed to her students. All of us at USCRI are deeply saddened by her passing and send our condolences to her family.

I knew Betsy briefly when our children were in grade school. In addition to her great kindness, what I remember most about Betsy was the colorful mural she had painted on her garage door. Thought of her with a smile every time I drove by it.

Betsy was a friend and neighbor, her sons and ours played together now and then and we often chatted over the fence on the front porch or hung out in our little kiddy pool. We are so deeply saddened by her loss. Bless you all and know that we are thinking and praying for you during this sad time. Liz, Kevin and Nick Mosier

We send our sincerely sympathy to dear Betty, Betsy's brothers and sons. We have fond memories of the Clark family in Delmar.
Although we don't live there now, we still feel like Delmar and Delmar Reformed Church are family. May she be at peace with no more pain, no more suffering, in a renewed body and mind.

I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Betsy’s passing. I have so many happy memories with her on a tennis court—either in a rec league match with the kickstarters or at the practices she organized at SUNY Albany. How I wish we could play one more set together—though she’d probably beat me in singles! Off the court, Betsy always had a quick smile and interesting story to tell from her various travels and adventures. I’m so grateful that I was able to see her right before I moved away from Albany this past summer. She invited me to stop by her house, and I remember thinking that it was the perfect reflection of her—bright, warm, and artsy. I'll miss you Betsy.
