The entirety of what Matt Nash meant to the C-A school community can never be replaced. We must all honor his memory by doing our best to do what he did everyday. We must make every attempt to make other's smile and laugh. We must show unwavering support for each other. We must go out of our way to check in with our students and co-workers, and show them that they are important and valuable. These are just a part of what Matt did without question or hesitation everyday, and they are the least that we can do to honor him amazing spirit.

Oh Matthew Terence Nash you were so loved! Funny how I still have not forgotten your full name from when I was a freshman. We’ve had so many great random times together but all started when I was a freshmen and you would come over to our lunch table to talk to your cousins Pete! (Lol, then we would joke about him out of love to our friend) from then on every time I saw you I knew you were rare to come by. Anytime we would see each other I knew it would never be awkward and we would always have something to talk about. Between being on the sports bus to and from games, parties, hanging out with out kind hearted buddies, meeting you guys at the park while you were fishing and so much more there was never a bad time when you were around. I know you truly touched the souls of everyone you met in your journeys. I also know how proud people are to know you and have you in their life. It just isn’t fair how the good always leave way to soon! You will be missed by many.
My deepest, deepest condolences for all of your family and friends! My thoughts are with every one of you!

Karen, Terry & Tara - I struggle to find the words to ease your immense grief. I suppose it's because there aren't any. Perhaps, in time, you'll find solace in the knowledge that no matter how brief his visit here was - Matt made a lasting impression with those of us fortunate enough to have met him. I will fondly remember his smile, enthusiasm, and love. I mourn our collective loss with you and pledge to do whatever I can to keep his memory alive.

Mr. Nash, Mrs. Nash, and Family
I would like to express my deepest condolences regarding the loss of your son Matt. I had the privilege of working alongside him at Coxsackie-Athens not only as a colleague, but also as his JV baseball assistant coach. Matt was truly an amazing individual who brightened the lives of everyone in the school. His passion for student success on and off the field permeated to each of us. I am forever grateful for knowing Matt as he taught me how to be a better teacher, coach, and individual. What I learned from him I will always carry with me throughout the rest of my career. Matt touched not only my life, but the lives of everyone he met. He truly was a beacon of light in many peoples' lives.

Mr. Nash and Mrs. Nash and Family
We are so sorry to hear about your wonderful son Matt.
He was one in a zillion. He wasn’t just a baseball coach and a teacher’s aid but he was an amazing man, a son, an uncle, a brother and a role model to many. He was always there for anyone and everyone. Matt wasn’t just Dillon’s coach but he was his friend too. His confidante. Always joking and calling each other and busting chops. He will be truly missed but never forgotten. God Bless You All
C-A will never be the same.

Terry and family~ Words cannot express how deeply sorry we are for your loss. Matt was a larger than life young man. He had a smile that would melt a mountain and his sense of humor and sarcasm is something that I greatly admired. I so enjoyed the time we spent together while he ran the clock and I did the book for the modified boys’ basketball team. We had many laughs. My son, Nixon enjoyed what little JV season there was last year with Matt as his coach and he was so looking forward to having him for a coach again. He was well respected and admired by many. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. May he Rest In Peace.
Love,
