Obituary of Donald Jameson

GLENMONT - Donald Jameson, 84, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at home. Don was born and raised in Lowell, MA. He earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II in the Pacific Theater. Don married Louise Smiley in 1949. For his professional life, he appreciated a 38 year career at IBM. He was a long time member of the Woodstock Reformed Church where he served faithfully as an elder, deacon, church treasurer and in many other capacities. In 1998, he and Louise moved to Glenmont. He was an active member of the Delmar Reformed Church where he served on the Consistory. Don's passions were his family and the Boston Red Sox. Don is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Louise. He is the beloved Dad of Bill and Klaire Jameson, Donna and Pat Bradish, Debra Jameson and Lorelei Heidenstrom, and Tom and Cindy Jameson; Grandpa to Joelle and Donny Jameson, Trevor and Dan Bradish, Rebecca, Courtney, and Kaitlyn Jameson; Brother to Ruth Traversy; Uncle to a number of nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his sister, Irma Bailey. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Service of Resurrection will be held 1 pm Wednesday at the Delmar Reformed Church, 386 Delaware Ave., Delmar.
