Obituary of Patricia Hogan

GLENMONT - Patricia Lourdes VanDeMark Hogan, 67, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Rome, NY, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Lourdes VanDeMark. Pat is survived by her best friend and husband of 45 years, James B. Hogan, Jr. She is also survived by her five loving children, Timothy (Anna) of Raleigh, NC, Colleen (Robert) Kelty of Guilderland, Megan of East Greenbush, Cara (John) Bashant of Delmar and Matthew (Shannon Fallon) of Manchester, NH. Pat loved being a grandmother to her eight grandchildren, Bobby, Patrick, Katie and Seamus Kelty, Madeline, Sadie and Brendan Bashant and Brodie Hogan. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Elizabeth Hogan (Ronald Modras). Pat was a person who truly loved her job of being a Registered Nurse. She will miss all of her friends in the postpartum unit at Albany Medical Center. Besides her career and her family, she lived for shopping, family vacations in Chatham, Cape Cod and her golden retriever, Belle. A special thanks to Dr. Scott Beegle, Marva George, Sarah Pratt and the staff of Medical ICU at Albany Medical Center. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 3 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
