Obituary of Bridget Maher

GLENMONT - Bridget M. Maher, 51, of Glenmont passed away suddenly on Dec. 26, 2013. Born August 15, 1962 in Hornell, NY, she was the daughter of Rose M. (Conrad) Maher of Glenmont and the late Charles E. Maher. Bridget graduated from Hornell High School in 1981 and spent four years in the U.S. Coast Guard. She later received an associate's degree from Villa Maria College in Buffalo. Bridget came to the Albany area in 1995 and received an associate's degree from ITT Tech while working at the NYS DCJ. She was currently an I.T. Specialist with the NYS DMV at the time of her death. In addition to her mother, Bridget is survived by a sister, Cathy Daub (David) and their children, Amy and Kyle, of Henrietta, NY; a sister, Joanne Maher of Buffalo; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 3 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Monday at the Church of St. Mary at Clinton Heights, 163 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush. Burial will be in Ascension Gardens, Henrietta, NY at a later date. Rather than sending flowers, the family prefers donations in Bridget's memory be made to the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
