SELKIRK - Teresa G. McNary, 55, of Selkirk NY, passed away October 22, 2017 after a long, courageous battle of 17 years with Huntington’s Disease. She was surrounded by her loving family and passed peacefully. Teresa was born in Longview, Washington on August 29, 1962.
After graduation, she moved to Dallas, Texas and met her future husband Mike McNary while they both worked at TGI Friday’s. Mike and Teresa soon relocated to Delmar, NY and were married in 1987.
Teresa began employment with US Airways in customer service in 1988 and worked for 13 years. Working for the airline gave Teresa the opportunity to travel to visit with friends and family in her hometown in Washington state multiple times a year, along with other places in the world.
Teresa loved children and before she had her own, she volunteered at local hospitals comforting and rocking premature babies. This is a testament to the selfless soul that she was throughout her life. Her greatest joy was having her two children. Teresa is survived by her loving husband Michael, her son Robbie (Maggie) of Denver, CO, Gabrielle (David) of West Chester, PA, her parents Mike and Caroline (Rosie) Jensen of Longview, WA, her sister Cindy (Donnie) Jacobs, Melissa (Ryan) Morris, brother Mike “Chip” Jensen, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Shelly Hill and Jo Mae Fennel, and her brother Brandon Jensen. She was comforted in the course of her illness by her faithful sidekick, her dog Max, for many years. She will be forever remembered and missed for the loving, warm spirit she spread to all who had the chance to know her.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 26th from 3 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 am on Friday, October 27th at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar.
