CLARKSVILLE- Shirley R. Hoffman, 78, died Monday, November 24, 2014 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Gilboa, NY she was the daughter of the late James and Clarabell (Roe) Warner. Shirley was a 30 year life member of the Onesquethaw Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and scrapbooking. Shirley's greatest joy was caring for the babies of her family and neighbors. She was known as Aunt Shirley to many. Shirley is survived by her loving husband Kenneth Hoffman, Jr.; her children Virginia "Ginger" (Ronald) Thompson of East Berne and Wayne (Grace) Hoffman of Selkirk; her brother Richard (Rae) Warner and sister Carol (Charles) Burometto; her grandchildren Ronald Thompson, and Jody and Angie Zabel; her great-grandchildren Adrianna Bradt and Aaron Darnell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Shirley was predeceased by her step father Edward A. Hughes and brother Walter Warner. Shirley's family would like to thank the staff of Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital for the care and comfort they provided. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar on Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 2 to 5pm. A funeral service will follow at 5pm.
