Schuyler E. McCammon

ROCHESTER – Schuyler E. McCammon, Jr., 70, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016. Born April 23, 1946 in Albany he was the son of Schuyler Sr. & Lillian McCammon; father of Todd S. McCammon (wife Linda) of Rochester, NY and the late Christopher S. McCammon; and grandfather of Madison, Christian, Liam Joseph, and Owen Teague. Several cousins also survive. Schuyler attended Albany Public Schools through the 6th grade then The Albany Academy Grades 7-12, graduating in 1964. He graduated from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA with a BS degree in Finance in 1968. Schuyler served in the US Army Signal Corp after college, stationed in the US and Korea attaining the rank of 1st Lt. He joined Fleet Bank (formally State Bank of Albany) in 1972. He worked in the Capital District as well as Plattsburgh and Newburgh attaining the position of VP in the Commercial Loan Division. In 1992, he worked for The National Bank of Coxsackie as a VP and Senior Loan Officer until 1996. From 1996-2008 he was a Bus Driver for the Bethlehem Central School District. Schuyler’s memberships included being a Life Member of the Elsmere Fire Dept. where he held positions of Fire Police Lt., Treasurer, and Director; member of Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post # 1040 American Legion and member of FASNY. A graveside service will be held 11 am Friday, December 23rd at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands. A procession to the grave will form at 10:45 am Friday at the cemetery’s South Gate off Menand Road (Route 378) at the intersection of Van Rensselaer Boulevard (Route 377).
