Sandra K. Pangburn, 81, of Glenmont, passed away on July 10, 2023 was surrounded by her family as she entered eternal life.
A mom, grandmother and devoted wife of 62 years, she was brave and strong as she endured various chronic illnesses. Sandra, born in Albany, NY, met Elbert Pangburn, her husband of 62 years, at the young age of 16 on a blind date (As the story is told by dad).
Sandra was a branch manager of Citizen’s Bank, Delmar and held various leadership positions. She was a member of the Delmar Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and served as the longest elected President. In addition, she a long time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, serving her Lord teaching Sunday School and served on numerous committees. She volunteered at Capital City Mission and helped gain additional funding for special programs. She loved camping, quilting, taking car rides to Schoharie, watching NASCAR, meeting for dinner with Dick and Diane (brother in law / sister in law) and spending time with her sister in law, Patricia Stoffels. Most importantly she loved spending time with her children - John and Debbie and grandchildren, Sarah, Jennifer, Jack and Matthew.
She leaves behind her dedicated husband, Al; son, John Pangburn; daughter, Deb Martin (Peter); and grandchildren, Sarah, Jennifer, Jack and Matthew. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. And her beloved cat – Peanut.
She will be reunited with her big brother, Richard Stoffels; sister, Shirley Smith; mother, Ruth Wasson; and father, Louis Stoffels; along with beloved pets, Elliott, Princess, Buffy, Sam and the rabbits
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, July 15 from 10 to 11 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 85 Elm Ave., Delmar. A funeral service will be held at 11 am in the Church. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Capital City Mission, 259 S. Pearl St., Albany, NY 12202.
