Ryan Crannell Long passed away in New York City on February 1, 2021.
He was born August 12, 1990 in Delmar, NY. Ryan excelled academically and graduated from LaSalle Institute and Tufts University. He received his MA from Georgetown University. His love of reading and appetite for knowledge was broad and never satisfied. His passion for politics led him to pursue numerous positions on campaigns at the state and federal levels and as an associate for political consulting firms Berger Hirschberg and Mercury LLC. Most recently he worked for the Office of the New York Public Advocate, working with a broad spectrum of city and state agencies while helping the citizens of the city navigate the complexities of their government.
He is survived by his mother Elizabeth Clyne and father Timothy Long and his loving younger brother Ethan. He was predeceased by his grandparents James and Diane Clyne and Joseph and Winifred Long. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss his warm embrace, infectious smile, and quick wit. Ryan was a true friend to many, and his absence will leave a void in our lives.
The family will remember, mourn and celebrate his life privately. We thank all who knew and loved Ryan for your kind words and prayers.
