Ronald E. Thorne, Sr.

Ron Thorne, 82, of Delmar, passed away Tuesday, March 11th 2025.  

Ron was born in Albany, NY in October of 1942 to the late James J. and Katherine D. (Kallner) Thorne. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Ann E. (Dorsey) Thorne; his children Ronald E. Thorne, Jr., and Jaqueline M. Thorne. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Jane Heritage and brother in law Calvin J. Heritage.

Above all, Ron was a loving and devoted husband and father. A true caregiver who tirelessly looked after his loved ones. He was a well known and respected member of his neighborhood, never without a smile and kind to all, especially the local animals. Known for keeping his house and yard meticulously groomed, he was also an avid bowler, having multiple perfect 300 point games over the years. Ron was retired from the New York State University Construction Fund, where he was employed as an architect for many years. After retirement, Ron and Mary Ann loved to take cruises and dance. He will be deeply missed but his kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
