DELMAR - Robert B. Nagy died at his home in Delmar on September 10, 2013 after a long illness. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on January 31, 1936, the son of Edna (Cullen) and Joseph Nagy and was educated at Resurrection College of the University of Waterloo, the Ecole des Beaux Arts, the Grand Seminaire, and McGill University in Montreal. In 1961 he was ordained a Roman Catholic priest for the Diocese of Montreal. He served faithfully in that capacity for many years, primarily in campus ministry, initially at McGill University and later at Concordia University. In 1996 he requested, and was granted, a dispensation from his priestly vows and thereafter married his wife Mary Crangle who survives him. He was an artist, an athlete, a world traveler, a reader, and a dreamer, deeply loved, respected and admired by many.
Bob is also survived by his sisters Mary Brandt (Walter) and Agnes Chayer (Pierre), as well as by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, and by Mary's family. He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Patricia Lord.
We are deeply grateful to Community Hospice and especially Becky, Robaire, and Beth for their wonderful care.
