HAWLEY, PA - Robert Anthony Ferranti of Hemlock Farms, Hawley, Pennsylvania and Bradenton, Florida, 70, died suddenly at home, Saturday, June 28, 2016. Bob was born in Kerns, Utah, and lived in many areas here and abroad as his father, the late Anthony Ferranti, spent his career serving in the Air Force. The family including his mother, the late Dorothy Antonelli Ferranti, and his brother, Ronald E. Ferranti, thoroughly enjoyed their foreign assignments most of all in Germany.
Bob graduated from Kaiserslautern American High School, Kaiserslautern, Germany and attended both the University of Maryland and Rider University in New Jersey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving for over two years as a Radar Specialist, Okinawa, Japan.
Bob had a challenging career working for New York Life and lived in Manhattan for his entire career. On a memorable Fourth of July in 1985 while watching fireworks over the East River he met the love of his life, Kathleen Sharkey. They had a wonderful marriage living in New York City and spending leisurely weekends at their home in the Pocono Mountains where they enjoyed entertaining family and friends, golfing and sailing on Lake Wallenpaupack. After retiring, Bob and Kathy enjoyed the warmer winters in Bradenton and summers in the Poconos.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kathleen Sharkey Ferranti, his brother, Ronald, and his wife, Marcia Ann.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 2nd from 4 to 6 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 am Friday, June 3rd at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar, followed by the interment at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
