DELMAR - Robert (Bob) Gino Conti, 68, passed away on October 8, 2014, in the comfort of his home with loved ones by his side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in the Bronx, Bob lived for a time in California and Florida but spent most of his life in New York. He retired from IBM but was most proud of his 26 year military career as a Navy Sea Bee, Vietnam and Desert Storm vet. His dedication to the military extended to his posts as Commander of the American Legion Post and the VFW Post, both in Delmar. Most recently he served as administrator of the Moose Lodge in Ruskin, Florida doing what he loved to do most. He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Cindy (Gallagher), daughter Regina Miller (Bryan) and grandchildren Natalie and Alex. He is also survived by his beloved sister Elaine Tucci (Bob); brother Ken Conti (Sandy); in laws Vicky and Ron Meehan, Nikki and Ken Ahrens, Kim and Leslie Petersen ,10 loving nieces and nephews and some of the best friends and cousins ever. Bob's humor and gentle manner touched all those who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 1 to 3 pm in the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave. Delmar. A committal service will be held on Tuesday at 1pm at Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research and/or Hospice of Saratoga.
