DELMAR– Patricia J. O'Connor, 87, passed onto eternal life on February 15, 2016. She was born in Albany, NY, daughter of the late Frederick and Maude Beebe Sullivan. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, the late Thomas O'Connor, Sr., and is the beloved mother of Thomas (Catherine) William O'Connor, Jr. of Guilderland, Susan O'Connor of Delmar and Timothy O'Connor of Clifton Park. Also predeceased by her brothers Frederick Sullivan, Jr. and Thomas Sullivan, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Pat was a lifelong resident of Delmar and a graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany. Prior to her marriage, Pat was employed by the State Bank of Albany. An avid golfer, she and her husband were owners of Tall Timbers Country Club in Slingerlands. Pat was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and a past member of the Dutch Settler's Society. As a loving mother of a child with intellectual challenges, she took great pride in advocating for those with developmental disabilities. Pat was a founding member of the Albany Apostolate for the Reverend Ralph DiOrio. In addition to her deep Christian faith, she will always be remembered for her fun loving spirit and sense of humor.
The family would like to thank the wonderful team of ladies, who provided care for her during her courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Special thanks are given to Jamie for her unparalleled, loving devotion to Pat.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 am Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
