Nigel G. Wright

DELMAR - Nigel G. Wright, 83, died suddenly at his home in Delmar on May 24, 2014. He enjoyed an active and involved life until the end. The son of William Wright and Annie Dimmick, he was born in Schenectady on February 2, 1931. A graduate of Cornell University and Harvard Law School, Nigel worked for the State of New York for many years and retired from the New York State Tax Appeals Tribunal, where he was a judge. A strong advocate for taxpayer rights, Nigel was committed to human rights and justice in other areas as well, and generously supported many charities. He is survived by close friends Susan Cloninger, Cynthia Abele, and Lois Griffin. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice, in the spirit of Nigel's support for causes in which he believed. A memorial service will be held at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany on a date to be announced later.
