Nancy Wei Chiu, who loved to be called “PoPo” by her grandkids, passed away on February 28, 2022 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy, named Wei Nan Ying, was born in Nanjing, China on October 20, 1946 to Yee-Ching Lee and Chinese Nationalist Air Force General Chung-Liang Wei. She grew up in Taiwan where she met her husband Charles Chiu. They moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1972. In 2016, they moved to Albany, NY to be closer to their daughter and her family.
A sales associate for over 20 years, Nancy received countless Dillard’s Pacesetter Awards for her exceptional sales performance. Her hobbies include singing in the church choir at St. John Neumann in Strongsville, OH and serving as a Eucharistic minister at St. Thomas the Apostle in Delmar, NY, spinning, and gardening. She was especially known for her passion and creativity in cooking.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles, daughter Christina Kistler (William), daughter Jennifer Chiu (Mark), 2 grandchildren Camila and Oliver Kistler, brother Ken Wei, sister Sylvia Din, and her many more nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 12, 2022 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar, NY. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
