Nancy J. Bub, 80, of Delmar, went to be with Christ her Savior on Saturday, February 5, 2022.
She was born on August 29, 1941, in Rockville Centre, NY to the late Mildred and John A. Deans. She was predeceased by her older brother Donald J. Deans, and favored nephew Gordon Holton. Nancy was well known for her love for God, her self-described “warped sense of humor,” a fierce devotion to her family, compassion on those who are hurting, a great love of cats big and small, and the occasional (or not-so-occasional) sarcastic remark. Many of the hurting people Nancy came across became recipients of the cards she lovingly created and printed, and she loved to lend a listening ear or offer a word of encouragement to anyone who needed it. She met her husband William “Skip” Bub while attending Bethlehem Community Church. Later she attended Grace Fellowship where she served by coordinating the information center and singing joyfully in the choir. Nancy most recently found her church home at King’s Chapel, where she was thrilled to worship with family and friends new and old. Nancy was an x-ray technician from 1965 – 1976. She spent many years as a volunteer telephone counselor for The Samaritans Suicide Prevention Line. She also served as president, secretary, and quartermaster of the Village Volunteers Fife & Drum Corps.
In addition to her devoted husband of over 45 years, Nancy is survived by her only child Jennifer Davies (Matthew), whom she loved with all her heart; her best friend and older sister Janet Holton; her loving brothers- and sisters-in-law Dennis, Tami, John, Stephen, Maureen, David, and Dawn Bub, all of whom she loved as her own; 16 nieces and nephews and their spouses and children, and of course the best Mother’s Day present she ever received – her kitty, Lucky.
The family would like to thank the attentive and truly caring nurses in the Albany Med ICU who took incredibly good care of her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm at King’s Chapel, 440 Route 9W, Glenmont, NY 12077. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to King’s Chapel or the charity of your choice.
