DELMAR – Michael T. Bintz, 48, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a short illness.
Born May 21, 1966 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of Cyril Bintz (Sharon) and the late Linda (Przybycien) Bintz. In addition to his father, Michael is survived by his wife, Mary C. Bintz; sons, Jacob and Joseph Bintz; mother-in-law, Anne Blanchard; sister-in-law, Bonnie Maille; and brother-in-law, Michael Blanchard (Carole). He was also the uncle of Sierra and Cate Maille and Ethan and Nicole Blanchard; and cousin of Andrew Kowalski. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Michael was a graduate of the State University at Brockport. He had a 20 year career with the Albany Police Department, retiring July 31, 2014 with the rank of Lieutenant, and he served as a board member of the Albany Police Athletic League (P.A.L.). Michael was passionate about sports and loved golfing, bowling and playing baseball but more than the sports he enjoyed the people he got to play them with. He always put family first and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 to 8 pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Saturday, March 28th at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
