DELMAR – Mary Frances Hoff, nee Mary Frances Livingston, born June 5, 1922, died on Monday, October 16, 2017 while residing at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by a nephew, William Hoff, Jr., his sister Sheila, a niece Anne Marie Truppi, and many friends. Her husband, Francis X. Hoff predeceased her in 1989. She was employed for many years by the New York State Education Department.
Her faith was the pillar of her life; as evidenced by her many activities in St. Thomas the Apostle parish in Delmar. A daily Mass communicant and a Eucharistic minister, no contribution to this church was ever refused; as she and her husband headed the Bishop's Appeal, taught religious education, prepared meals for the priests on busy church holidays, refilled the votive candles, and in later years, attended funerals for those with few family members. Her positive disposition, quick wit, and abiding spirituality, were a joy and comfort to all who knew and loved her.
A special thank you to the sisters and nurses at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she lived for many years, for their kind and loving care.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 9 am Saturday, October 21st at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
