DELMAR – Marjorie D. Farrell, 90, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at her home.
Born on August 17, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Dehler Zimmerman and step-daughter of the late Durward Zimmerman. She was a former physical education teacher, as was her late husband, Don, who she met while attending Cortland State College. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She was an artist, a New York Yankee fan, nature and animal lover, who enjoyed many years camping with her family at her and her husband's summer log cabin residence in Schroon Lake.
Marjorie is survived by her brother, Lawrence Dehler and step-brother, Neal Zimmerman. Her step-brother, Durward Zimmerman passed away previously. She is also survived by her six children, Donna Secovnie (Robert), Susan Blake (William), Mary Brewer, Janet Field (Charles), Michael Farrell and Beth Cooke (Steven). She is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great-grandchildren, who will all miss her.
The family would like to thank the Community Hospice for their compassionate staff, as she passed away peacefully at home with her family.
There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Friday, January 19th at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer. Donations in Marjorie's name may be made to Community Hospice Foundation, c/o Gift Processing Center, 310 So.
