DELMAR Marjorie E. Eilertsen, age 78, died August 13, 2014 after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Marjorie was the daughter of the late Henry Pointer and Margaret Tyrrell Pointer. She was a homemaker and 25 year volunteer at the former Child's Nursing Home in Albany where she visited residents, led the rosary weekly and served for a time as President of the Board of Managers. Previously, she worked as a supervisor for the AT& T Company in New York City. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Thomas Church for 43 years where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and school volunteer. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Sigbjorn Eilertsen, their daughter Marjorie Eilertsen Brown and son-in-law Mark and grandchildren Mark Jr., Elizabeth and Matthew. She is also survived by her sister Joan McPhelim of Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews. Marjorie devoted her life to caring for her family and friends. She loved to cook and bake for them and her strong faith lives on in each of them. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 18 at 10 A.M. in St. Thomas Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Applebee Funeral Home on Sunday, August 17 from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. Interment will follow the Mass in Gerald Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
