Mario J. DeFrancisco

ALBANY - Mario J. DeFrancisco, 93, of Glenmont, beloved husband of Betty DeFrancisco for 71 years, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012. A lifelong resident of the Albany area and longtime member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish and Normanside Country Club, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna DeFrancisco. He graduated from CBA in 1937 and was elected to the CBA Athletic Hall of Fame many years later. He served as a Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps in World War II and was a Partner in Martin Aluminum Products for many years. Survivors include his beloved wife Betty; sons Joseph (Lynne), Gerald (Regina) and Mark (Mary); grandchildren Eric (Kristen), Laura, Geralyn, Martha, Jessica (Dwayne), Martin, and Justin; great grandchildren Sarah, Kyle and Lindsey; sister, Catherine Montelone and many caring nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited and may call Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave, Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 AM at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Interment will be at Saratoga National Cemetery.
