Margiana Benza

DELMAR - Margiana T. Benza, 78, of Delmar passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, January 10, 2014. Born in Liberty, NY on June 15, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Lee R. and Grace E. (Meyer) Tompkins and sister of Nancy T. Steele and Lee R. Tompkins, Jr. Mrs. Benza was a graduate of Knox School for Women and attended Syracuse University. She worked in the Chenango Valley Central School District as a librarian for 15 years, however her lifelong love and devotion was being a wife, mother and grandmother. Margiana was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Donald J. Benza, this past May. She is survived by her children, Debra Feinberg (Edward), Donald J. Benza, Jr. (Michele) and Scott Benza (Penny); and seven grandchildren, Samantha and Ross Feinberg, Timothy and Daniel Benza and April, Brittney and Edward Benza. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, January 14th from 11 am to 12:30 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar.
