GLENMONT - Goldin, Margaret Mary
Peg (Nana) Goldin passed Friday, July 6, 2012 in the comfort of her home with the support of family and friends. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on September 29, 1923 to the parents of Dennis James Meehan and Margaret Mary (Kane) Meehan, she is predeceased by three sisters, Helen, Agnes, and Gertrude and son Peter Kane Goldin. Nana is survived by her children Steven (Nina Salamon) Goldin of Lakeville Mass., daughter Margaret (John Denio) Goldin-Denio of Glenmont, NY, daughter in law Mary Ann Hodge Goldin of Rehoboth, Mass. and three grandchildren Nathan Goldin, David and Diana Denio.
Nana was a faithful member of Delmar's Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church. She was an avid bridge player and helped to organize groups at Saint Stephen's, the Bethlehem YMCA and the Wednesday evening club. She enjoyed holding court on the "back porch" with many family and friends, an activity that repeated itself many times over the years and provided great comfort over the past few months. But of course, the most special place in her heart was reserved for her three "perfect" grandchildren who have provided many lasting memories.
For all those who knew her, a funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 10am at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Delmar. All are also welcome to calling hours on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm in the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar, NY.
Nana has asked for donations to the Sunday School Children of Saint Stephens Episcopal Church, 16 Elsmere Avenue, Delmar, New York 12054.
