Madelene F. Sutter, 81, originally from Tupper Lake, longtime Delmar resident and most recently of Malta died on Friday, November 15, 2013.
One of thirteen children, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Florence (Disotell) St. Onge and wife of the late Irvin O. Sutter. Survivors include three daughters, Karen Sutter Runge of Coral Springs, FL, Jill Sutter Fifield (Stephen) of Ballston Spa and Bonnie Sutter Wood (Rory); grandchildren, Sean, Erica, Christian, Cameron, Kelsey and Ian and great grandson, Masen; and several nieces and nephews.
Madelene had worked for Western Union, Paddock Pools and retired from a local Delmar medical practice. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Delmar. She loved music, games, cards and puzzles of all kinds. Madelene was a champion Bingo player where she lived at the Home of the Good Shepherd. Her biggest indulgence and interest was her grandchildren in whom she inspired and encouraged the love of God, family, the arts and education.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Tuesday from 4 to 6 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A brief service in memory of Madelene will be held at 6 pm. Those who wish may send a remembrance in her name to a Parkinson's Disease charity of choice.
