GLENMONT – After struggling with a long illness, Lou passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 15th at the age of 79.
Born and raised in the Albany area, Lou was a graduate of Milne High School. He was a lifetime employee for the New York Telephone Company and served as Sergeant Major Hauf for many years in the Army National Guard. He also volunteered in many capacities for New York Telephone and the Town of Bethlehem (Volunteer Police and Ambulance).
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; children, Heidi (Ken Aupperle), Earl (Mariecel Martinez) and Sheryl (Mike Avery). Lou was the very proud grandpa of his seven grandchildren, Brittney, Ashley, Katelyn, Christopher, Isabella, William and Sabrina.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, April 21st from 9 to 11 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 85 Elm Ave., Delmar. A memorial service will follow at 11 am at the church.
