DELMAR – Lois M. Vadney passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 22, 2015 after battling heart disease.
Lois was born in Albany on July 14, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Oliver) Sutter. Survivors include a son, Jeff A. (Karen), a daughter, Lynn M. Dente (Chuck) and a son, Joel M. (Mariellen); and grandchildren, Kelly, Lauren, Tyler and Ryan Vadney and Kyle and Cory Dente; and her beloved dog, JJ. In addition to her parents, Lois was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, John M. Vadney; infant son, Jack Vadney and a brother, Irvin Sutter.
Lois worked for Traveler’s Insurance for many years before becoming the secretary of the family business, Vadney’s Underground Plumbing. A lifelong resident of the town of Bethlehem, Lois worked and volunteered for Bethlehem Senior Services for over 30 years and had been very active in implementing the Tri-Village Directory. When her children were young, Lois was active in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. In later years, she enjoyed traveling cross country with her husband and spending time at their camp in the Adirondacks. Her hobbies and enjoyments included bowling, snowmobiling and water skiing. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, February 27th from 4 to 8 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 428 Kenwood Ave., Delmar on Saturday, February 28th at 10:00 am. A reception will be held at the church following the service.
