ALBANY - Lois D. Marks, 73, of Albany passed away on Monday, December 1, 2011 at her home.
Born in Oelwein, Iowa on August 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late James S. and Violetta (Polege) Durnan. Lois had a love of life that she shared with her family and her many friends. Her true passion was dog training and she enjoyed training therapy dogs and taking them to visit area nursing homes. She was a member of the Albany Obedience Club and the Mohawk Hudson German Shepherd Club. In her later years, she enjoyed vacationing in Maine with her husband, the late Clifford K. Marks, and their canine companions.
She is survived by her son, C. James Marks and his wife Davida of Voorheesville; her daughter, Catherine Osmer and her husband, John of Atkinson, NH; her sister, Mary Oleksak of Albany; her granddaughter, Danielle (Kevin) McCormick and their son , Declan; grandsons, Joshua (Amanda) Marks, and Justin and Jacob Marks; and her constant companions, Trudy and Tater.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 4 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Monday at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., Albany. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
