SLINGERLANDS - Lois Lallman Aldinger passed away on July 12, 2014 at Albany Medical Center. A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 69 years, Donald; her two daughters, Sharon (Gary) Masline of East Greenbush, and Nancy (Paul) Nakai of Larkspur, CA, as well as four grandchildren (Jeffrey Masline, Sara Kelly, Stephanie Nakai and Johnathan Nakai) and three great-grandchildren who will miss her loving kindness and encouragement.
Lois was born in 1923 in Troy, the only child of William and Pearl Lallman. After graduation from high school in 1941, she worked at Behr-Manning during WWII. In 1946, Lois married RPI graduate, Donald Aldinger. They eventually settled in Webster, NY, where they lived for many years and raised their daughters.
Don and Lois moved to Danville, California, where they lived for over 30 years before returning to the Capital Region. Throughout her life, Lois was active as a volunteer in many organizations, including the Girl Scouts, the March of Dimes, the Rochester Garden Center, and the Crow Canyon Country Club in Danville. She also served as a deacon of the Webster Presbyterian Church. Lois and her husband enjoyed numerous trips to Europe, South America, Hawaii and the Caribbean. She also pursued hobbies, including golf, bridge, decorative egg craft and design projects. Lois was a loving wife and mother, and the greatest joy of her life was her family.
The family wishes to thank the Community Hospice of Albany for their compassionate care.
To honor Lois' wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date.
