Kristina Anne Ferraro, 34, has passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her husband, family, and friends after a heroic battle with colon cancer.
Kristina was born in Queens NY to Joe and Kathi Ippolito. She was raised in Long Island and graduated from Ward Melville High School where she was a foreign exchange student in Mexico. She continued her education at SUNY Albany in 2007 and would later become a graduate of Registered Nurse program at the Samaritan School of Nursing.
Kristina began her nursing career at AMCH in the pediatric intensive care unit. She had a passion for caring for others and has touched the lives of many children, families, and her “PICU family”.
Kristina married Matthew J Ferraro in May of 2021 at a beautiful ceremony in Cabo San Lucas. The two were blessed in the time they had together and were more than husband and wife, they were best friends.
She loved and cherished her beloved dog Madison!
She had a smile and sense of humor that could shine light in the darkest of places, and an infectious laugh that brought warmth to everyone. Her passions were traveling the world, shopping, and most of all spending time with family.
Kristina is survived by her husband (Matthew), parents (Joe and Kathi), brothers and sister in law (Thomas, Joseph and Erika) aunt and uncle (Glenn and Madeline) cousin (Alexandra) and her most beloved niece and nephews (Zoe, Anthony, and JJ)
She will forever be remembered by everyone with the luck to know her by her feisty vigor, love of life, and her laughter.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 5 from 3 to 8 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. The interment service will be held 11:30 am Monday, November 6 at Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar. Contributions in Kristina’s memory may be made to Cap’s Fund Inc. (
