Keith Joseph Huntley (known as Keeter, Keity Bird, Woofin Keify, Woofin and Woofin G Pa) of Stillwater died on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Saratoga Hospital. He was 64.
Keith was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on March 20, 1959 and was the son of Darleen LaPelle Gauvin and Lawrence Huntley. A veteran of the US Navy, Keith honorably served his country from 1977 to 1980.
Keith loved sports, particularly basketball. Most of his life you could find him on a basketball court either playing a pick-up game with friends or in a league. He played in the Colonie Athletic Club and ABC leagues for over 20 years with the team known as "Bad Company" against some of the best players in the region. He also played in many tournaments, winning the Triple Crown National 3 on 3 at HVCC and several 3 on 3 tournaments at ABC. Keith was very proud of winning the 6 ft and under tournament at Crossgates which gave him the opportunity to play in Colorado where his team were runners up nationally. In his professional life, Keith was a Mobil franchise owner, realtor and later in life an Uber driver
Keith loved spending time with his granddaughter, Seneca James and daughter Aubrey enjoying an ice cream and picking out special rocks to paint. He was an avid bird watcher and at one point in his life, an exotic bird owner. He enjoyed playing golf with Joshua, Papa Bear and Kevin. He loved music, not always appropriate for all, and loud music on road trips! He loved to cook, and give away his yummies to family and friends. Keith loved to dance and fancied himself quite the dancer. He enjoyed running errands with his wife, and catching up with family while she was in stores. Keith was a sun worshipper who enjoyed sitting on his porch and taking in the rays. He enjoyed going to camp and in particular sitting at the fire late into the night and playing volley ball with the family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was quite the handyman and he enjoyed puttering around the house. Keith had a wicked sense of humor that again, was not always appropriate. The “Turkey Bowl” with his nephews and nieces at Thanksgiving was a tradition he loved and he loved challenging his nephew Travis in running races until Travis beat him!
Keith is survived by his wife, Sandy Perryman Huntley; daughter, Aubrey (Jayson) Battistoni; son, Joshua (Caitlin) Huntley; mother of his children, Nancy Weinheimer; his granddaughter, Seneca James Battistoni; his parents Darleen LaPelle Gauvin and Lawrence Huntley (Mary); mother-in-law, Gail Perryman; siblings, Cheryl (Kevin) Doherty, Jerry (Linda) Huntley, Lynn (Brett) Siebert, Darcie Reed (Jay Rutski); stepsister, Diana (Mettis) Jacobs and step brother John Huntley; nieces and nephews, Travis (Beth) Lamica, Liane Lamica, Nicholas Lamica, Santino (Jennifer) Iacabucci, Samantha (Thomas) Alheim, Ashley Huntley, Patrick McBride, Dominique Thomas, Tiffany Booher, Kayden Jandreau and Bianca Alheim
