SELKIRK- Kay (Keel) Geurtze, 82, wife of John B. Geurtze, owners of the (Property) Woodridge Farms passed away suddenly on Friday, September 18, 2015.
Born in Albany on February 8, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mabel Keel. Kay graduated from RCS High School in 1950 and attended Mildred Elley. An expert riflewoman and marksman, she was past secretary of the New York chapter of the NRA, and former member of the NYS Rifle and Pistol Assn. and the NRA. Kay loved bowling, art work, gardening and farming.
In addition to her husband she is survived by children, Edgar D. Wakeman (Michele) and William S. Wakeman (Cindy); step-children, John B. Geurtze, Jr. (Debbie), Gretchen Geurtze, Elisa Peters (Joseph) and Sara Geurtze; a brother Richard Keel (Sue); 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Rev. Robert Keel (Patricia).
