DELMAR - Kathryn T. Lenseth Simpson, age 87, entered into eternal peace on August 5, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones. Kathryn was born August 13, 1927 in Staten Island, NY, to the late William and Margaret Lane. She graduated valedictorian from Notre Dame Academy in Staten Island in 1945. Following high school she attended Rosemont College in Pennsylvania. Kathryn worked at Town & Tweed, Little Folks and The Canteen at Bethlehem Central Junior High School. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Kathryn was a longtime resident of Slingerlands and Delmar where she raised her six children. She was not only a devoted mother, but also a loving and caring grandmother, known for making the best "Grandma/Great-Grandma Cakes." Kathryn was also a loyal NY Mets fan. Kathryn was married to the late George Simpson. She will be forever missed by her loving children: Patricia Siciliano, Nancy Siciliano (Peter), Richard L. Lenseth (Kerry), Kathleen Gutman (Paul), Steven Lenseth (Patricia) and Barbara Burkart (Eric). She is also survived by her former husband Richard C. Lenseth, 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A special thank you goes out to the caring staff at Good Samaritan Health Care Center and St. Peter's Hospice. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 29th at 10:00 am at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 16 Elsmere Ave in Delmar. Burial will be immediately following at Bethlehem Cemetery off of Kenwood Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Kathryn T. Simpson, to Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America, 103 Patroon Dr, Guilderland, NY 12084 or The Marfan Foundation, (www.marfan.org), 22 Manhassett Ave, Port Washington, NY 11050.
