1934 — January 3, 2022

Josephine T. Garvey, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 3, 2022 after a fall in her home in September.

Born in Perry, NY on July 30, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jennie (Cerra) DeJohn and the wife of the William L. Garvey.  She is survived by two sons, Bill Garvey of Menands and Stephen C. Garvey, who lives overseas;  brother in law, Fred Hunt of Perry, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Josephine was a graduate of SUNY Brockport and had been an Elementary School Teacher. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.  She loved to travel and spend time at her condo in Myrtle Beach. Josephine will be remembered for being a good cook, and she loved flowers, butterflies and gardening.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, January 10 from 4 to 6 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am Tuesday, January 11 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
