GLENMONT- Josephine M. DeMarco, 91, died Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital. Josephine was born in Albany on March 21, 1924 to the late Dominick and Vera (Salamone) Ingemie.
After graduation from the former Cathedral Academy she worked for National Commercial Bank on State St. in Albany. From 1967 – 1986 she worked as a teachers aide at Voorheesville Elementary School. Josephine was a communicant of the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle in Delmar. She enjoyed participating in the Ravena Coeymans Selkirk Star program providing friendship and guidance to students through weekly activities. Above all Josephine loved her faith and family.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Nicholas J. DeMarco, Sr. who she married on September 15, 1949. She is survived by her children, Nicholas J. (Sheryl) DeMarco, Jr of Glenville, Raymond (Teresa) DeMarco of Waldorf, MD, Rita (James) Mooney of Delmar and Regina (Douglas) Pike of Guilderland; her grandchildren, Joelle, Nichole, Collin, Caitlin, Andrew, Nicholas, Jennifer and Michael; her great-granddaughter Madelyn and many nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her 6 siblings and dear friend Joseph Albano.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar, on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4 to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her nephew Rev. Dominic Ingemie on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 9:30am in the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Interment will follow the mass in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
