John R. Vaughn

RAVENA - John R. Vaughn, 63, of Ravena died on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. A graduate of Bethlehem Central High School, John served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was the son of the late Dr. Thurman C. Vaughn and the late June (Carlson) Vaughn of Glenmont. Survivors include two sisters, Kathryn Johnson of Rome, NY, and Laurie V. Lysenko and her husband, Steven, of Voorheesville; and a brother, Thomas E. Vaughn and his wife, Cynthia, of Queensbury. He was the uncle of Kelly Edwards, Erin, Meaghan and Taylor Vaughn, and Jennifer and Kristen Lysenko. He is also survived by aunts Rose Ann Vaughn and Marie Carlson, special cousin Diana Vaughn, and many other loving cousins. Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
