DELMAR - John Campfield Leonard, 86, longtime Delmar resident, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland.
Born in Binghamton, NY on May 12, 1926, he was the son of the late Alfred H. and Agnes (Wilcox) Leonard. John worked for the New York Telephone Company for over 40 years. He loved to travel and enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the Bethlehem Community Church.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kay (Hessler) Leonard; daughters, Lonna (Thomas) Hitchcock and Carol (Stephen) Bolduc; grandchildren, Robert (Peggy) Bolduc, Daniel (Kristen) Bolduc, Carrie Bolduc, Rebecca (Michael) Nelson, Andrew (Phoebe) Hitchcock, and Alison Hitchcock; and great grandchildren, Brian, Joseph, Alexandra and Leia Bolduc, Evelyn, Michael and Catherine Nelson and Valerie Hitchcock. He was the brother of the late Thomas L. Leonard.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Bethlehem Community Church, 201 Elm Ave., Delmar. There will be no calling hours.
