DELMAR: Jane C. Kenyon, 90, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. Jane was born in Syracuse, NY on February 22, 1921. She is the daughter of the late Frank Case Sr., and Effie Cummings Case. A graduate of Chittenango High School and the Central Business Institute in Syracuse, Jane was employed as a supervisor of accounting for Merchant's Bank for several years.
Jane was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Albany and volunteered for many years with the American Red Cross. When in her 50's she began making stuffed toy animals, creating several designs for McCall's Magazine. Jane was the creator of the "Kenyon Teddy Bears" and for 18 years donated them to the Ronald McDonald House Teddy Bear Auction.
Jane was happiest when spending time with her family and friends. She touched a great many people in her life and will be greatly missed.
Jane predeceased by her husband, Donald Kenyon. She is survived by her son, Mark Kenyon of Delmar; her sister, Patricia Stillman and three nephews, Daniel Case, Bill and Tom Stillman. Other survivors include three grand nieces, Lisa Roy, Margaret Rellos and Natalie Lacey, nine great grand nieces and a great grand nephew. She was also predeceased by her brother, Frank Case, Jr. She was a wonderful mother and "second mom" to her son's many friends.
Relatives and friends may call at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Chittenango Presbyterian Church, 118 Arch St., followed by interment in the Oakwood Cemetery, Chittenango, NY.
