Glenmont
James D. Frueh passed away in Albany on December 16, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on June 1st, 1945 in Albany he was a lifelong resident of Glenmont.
For 27 years, James continued the operation of the family fuel oil delivery business, George Wm. Frueh, & Sons. In addition to his career in oil delivery, James also took pride in his role as the owner of Stoffels Glenview Farm, where he raised beef cattle with his friend and business partner of 50 years, Mary Beth Fischer (Rick).
A devout Catholic, James' faith played a significant role in his life. James was a member of the Bethlehem Grange #137, a lifetime member of the NY State Angus Association, NY Farm Bureau, and the NY Sate Beef Cattleman’s Association.
He is survived by his sister, Elaine Christopher (the late Peter), and brothers Peter Frueh (Donna) and David Frueh (the late Gail). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents George Wm. Frueh and Adeline Stoffels Frueh and his brothers, Thomas Frueh and George C. Frueh
The visitation for James will take place on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave. Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 10:00am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church 35 Adams Pl. Delmar.
Interment will be in Our Lady help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James' memory may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl. Delmar, NY 12054.
