Jadwiga Pulkotycki, 84, of Albany passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
Born in Poland on August 27, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Moszczynski) Kownacki. She worked for 35 years at Historic St. Mary's Church on Capitol Hill. She was also a communicant of St. Mary's, as well as St. Michael's Church in Cohoes. She loved her Polish culture, and was a member of the Polish Community Center on Washington Avenue Extension in Albany. She will be fondly remembered for her cooking and the joy she received entertaining family and friends; and for her baking, especially her renowned cheesecake. She loved to sew, making outfits for her granddaughters school and activities. She dearly loved her granddaughters and her four-legged grand babies. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jozef Pulkotycki; her daughter, Jolanta Pulkotycki; and her sisters, Halina Kucinski and Teresa Zassowski.
Survivors include her daughters, Ula Pulkotycki and Margaret Leoniuk; granddaughters, Olivia and Kimberly Michalski; her brother, Jerzy Kownacki; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, December 17 from 4 to 7 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 18 at 12:30 pm at Historic St. Mary's Church on Capitol Hill, corner of Lodge and Pine Streets, Albany.
