Allgaier, Jacqueline Joy (Jackie), formerly of Delmar, NY was born November 29, 1927 in Munnsville, NY died peacefully, surrounded by her family on July 23, 2015 at the age of 87. Survived by husband of 57 years, Joseph A. Allgaier, children Joseph G. Allgaier, of Melbourne, FL, Barbara (Michael) McGonigle of Excelsior, MN, and Karen (Patrick) Plesh of Waterford, WI. Grandchildren Margaret, Michael, Katelyn, Matthew, Lauren and Mason. Preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and George Platten, and her brother Robert Platten. Married to Joseph Allgaier July 19, 1958, she recently celebrated her 57th wedding anniversary with her family and grandchildren at her current home in Deephaven, MN.
Prior to her marriage to Joe, Jackie was a court reporter for the Supreme Court of the State of NY. She treasured her years as a successful, independent career woman and often told stories of her days working for the court. As her children got older, Jackie resumed her career with the NY State Legislature as a Senator’s assistant. As a resident of Delmar, NY for 50 years, Jackie absolutely loved the community and life she built there with her family. She was a long-time parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She was also a member of Normanside Country Club and an avid bridge player and golfer. While her children were young, Jackie was an active volunteer in many community organizations including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, school PTA’s and the Village Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, July 27, 2015, 10:00 am at The Chapel of Deephaven Woods, St. Therese Parish Community, Deephaven, MN. Interment will be private in Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar, NY, according to Jackie’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the St. Thomas the Apostle Church Memorial Fund, 35 Adams Place, Delmar, NY, 12054.
