Howell Edward Morris of Delmar NY, passed away surrounded by family on December 21st at Albany Medical Center. Born in Rutland, VT on January 8, 1950, Howell was a standout athlete, playing multiple sports for his school, the Poultney Blue Devils. He graduated high school and pursued a career in Radiology that brought him to the Albany area. Though he’d work for various medical facilities in the area, Howell would ultimately dedicate more than 30 years of service to Albany Med. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 40 years, Marie Louise, a nurse whom he would cross paths with at Albany Med. In no time, they’d move to Delmar to start their family, bringing into the world, three handsome sons, Benjamin, Andrew, and Howell. There was never a moment where Howell wasn’t a devout husband. His and Marie’s marriage was the envy and standard to all who knew them. An unparalleled father, he was the first to support his sons in all their endeavors, be it sports, the arts, or the stages in life that needed sound insight. To people in the community and the hospital he was often referred to as, “The Mayor.” There was not a soul he’d pass in the hallways or in the aisle of the grocery store that he would ignore, asking how their families were, and if there was anything he could do for them. His selflessness, sarcasm, and unwavering sense of self, are all hallmarks that all will look back fondly on and appreciate. He is also survived by his sister Susan (Walter), as well as family near and far. Those wishing to remember Howell are asked to gather at Applebee Funeral Home, in Delmar, NY on Tuesday, December 29th from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 391 Delaware Ave., Albany, NY on Wednesday, December 30th at 10 a.m. Face coverings will be required and social distancing and occupancy limits will be observed for all services. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
