DELMAR – Henry G. Finger, 83 died Monday, April 13, 2015 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Born in Albany he was the son of the late Henry B. and Elsie S. Bausch Finger. Henry worked for many years in the family bakery, Delmar Bakery. After the bakery closed in 1970 he began working as a baker at the State University of New York at Albany retiring in 1996. Mr. Finger was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Delmar and a US Army veteran.
He is survived by he loving wife Marie “Mary Lou” (Engel) Finger; his daughters Linda (David) Anker, of Niskayuna, Sharon Finger of Delmar and Nancy (Dennis) Stanley of Delmar; his sister Phyllis Davis of Voorheesville; his grandsons Eric and Dane (Rachel) Anker. Mr. Finger was also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandsons Jeffrey and Adam Anker.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, 2015, at 1pm in the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 11am. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
